Waiter Leveler controller

The Waiter Leveler controller is a direct replacement for the Power Gear Model #500457 control module. This Power Gear model is a  manual system that was introduced in the late 1990’s and used thru the present.

Waiters Leveler is designed to be a used with the original Power Gear control panel # 500456 and/or a remote controller that communicates via wifi, like the Waiter ECC system.  This already has the capability to communicate with this control module, so its a neat added feature if you’re considering replacing your Intellitec ECC system

USE WITH POWER GEAR OEM CONTROL PANEL

FEATURES

Waiter’s Leveler control module supports all the original Power Gear features, plus a few new ones. These new features changes how the Power Gear control pad behaves and the feedback it provides the operator.  Here are the highlights:

ON/OFF button

This functions similar to the original. In order to turn the system ON,  the parking brake must be set,  the ignition in the ON position, and the transmission in park or neutral. If the system is ON and these three conditions change,  the system will automatically turn OFF.

NOTE – Automatic Retract and Alarm.  Regardless of the systems ON/OFF state, if the jacks are currently extended and the ignition ON, if the transmission is taken out of park or neutral,  the system will automatically retract the jacks and sound an alarm.  The alarm continues to sound until the jacks are retracted. If the transmission is placed back into park or neutral, or shut off the ignition.  the alarm will squelch and the jacks will stop retracting..

RETRACT ALL button

This button behaves differently and is used to select the retract mode of operation.

A quick press of the button toggles the “Individual Retract” mode. The mode is identified by watching the JACKS DOWN light.  If its blinking fast,  then the we’re in the Individual retract mode.  If its not blinking at all,  then we’re in the normal “extend mode”.

If the button is pressed and held for about 2 seconds, the system enters the “Retract All” mode.  This is indicated by the JACKS DOWN light blinking slowly and all jacks will begin retracting.

To stop the Retract All, you used to have to press the ON/OFF button.  This still works,  but an additional way now is to momentarily press the RETRACT ALL button again.  This will stop the retract mode.

JACKS DOWN light

This light is used to indicate what retract mode we’re in.

  • Steady OFF, indicates the jacks are fully retracted.
  • Steady ON, indicates the jacks are extended.
  • Fast blink – about 3 times a second. Indicates the system is in the “Individual Retract” mode.  In this mode, any of the jacks can be raised by any mount individually by simply pressing and hold the desired jack button. Note that in this mode, “BOTH” does not function to retract both rear jacks.
  • Slow blink – about once a second.  This indicates that the jacks are in the Retract All mode and all three jacks should be coming up.

Keypad inactivity

If no buttons have been pressed on the keypad (or from the remote control) for about 4 minutes,  the system will automatically switch to OFF. If the system was in a a RETRACT ALL mode,  it will stop retracting.

IMPORTANT – If the system is performing an automatic retract because of the transmission is in gear, this will not stop.  The only way to make it stop is to place the transmission back into park or neutral.

REMOTE  CONTROL VIA WAITER ECC

A big advantage of the Waiter Leveler module is its ability to connect to a wifi access point that has software capable of supporting the IoT MQTT transaction protocol.  Fortunately,  the Waiter ECC controller that’s used to replace the Intellitec ECC is just such a device.  Support for the Waiter Leveler has been built into the Waiter ECC controller.

The remote supports all the regular features,  plus some additional that cannot be implemented on the original OEM control panel.

Real time status of inputs is displayed. i.e. ON/OFF, parking brake, ignition ON, transmission in gear, pump running, dump valve open, and the status of the three leg valves.
